Oliver and Dashiell’s room is nearly done!

We removed the lathe and plaster walls and added insulation, then new drywall. We also added a wall just past the chimney. Someday a second bathroom will go in that space.

Finishing drywall seams! Dash calls it painting – all activities conducted on a ladder are called “painting”. 🙂

AFTER – The floor paint is probably not cured enough yet, but Oliver spent his first night in his new room last night. He chose the wall color months ago and two coats into the project announced that he wanted blue instead! 😛  He’s happy with orange now – thankfully.  Trim is still needed around the door and for some of the baseboard.   To match the existing trim we are getting the boards from a nearby saw mill and then hopefully my dad will help us plane them smooth for painting.
